Sixth Note to “Aziz e Man”

The United States is an empire and a superpower that is in decline and is perhaps even on the verge of collapse on the state level, even if it is doing well on a societal level. But it is perhaps better to be an American in the midst of imperial decline and collapse than to be in the next two best places at the moment, which arguably are England and France. Or better than even being in Canada. Arrogance and hubris is also something to which all empires and superpowers are fated and predestined. Thus, it is fate and predestination to which we must resign. Moreover, the ultimate choice or decision is one that is based on which Western power is most “decadent” and is faring the best, given that Russia – the least “decadent” of them all – is off the table. And then that is how you become either an ‘Anglophile’ or ‘Francophile’ or ‘Europhile’ and so on and so forth. Which of course is all absurd and ridiculous. But that is how people all around the world make their basic choices and decisions in terms of lifestyle. Which one is the most “decadent” and which one is faring the best? And then you cast your lot with that one. And when you cast your lot with that one, you also stroke their ego and bolster their arrogance and hubris as well as reinforce the delusions and hubris which underpin the arrogance and hubris. And in our case, America is ready-made, despite its varying issues and problems at the moment. But the whole point is to overcome the issues and problems as a citizen and responsible stakeholder in American state and society, as anyone else would in their own country. It’s basic logic and common sense. Where else are you gonna go? Israel and Pakistan?
