Third footnote to the post titled “Ultimate Reality”

Absolute or ultimate reality becomes gradually known to an individual after the individual goes through a period of spiritual struggles. After a certain period of spiritual struggles, there is an “unveiling” (Aletheia in Western terminology and Kashf in Sufi terminology) of absolute or ultimate reality which occurs before the individual gradually and over the course of time until finally, the essence is known to the individual. The “unveiling” is a unique experience which not many individuals get to experience, nor can it be properly described or understood by others unless an individual gets to experience the “unveiling” for themselves.
